The Server Connection settings are the most important of the application. They tell the application how to communicate with the Mitel Communication Service which is essential to successful operation of the application.
This should be the IP Address or hostname of the server running the MCS application on the internal corporate network.
This is the IP Address or DNS name for accessing the server remotely when outside the corporate network. This setting will populate automatically once a successful connection to the MCS has been made on the corporate network.
This should be configured as the username associated with your user account on the MCS. If connecting with your domain credentials then please enter the username in the following format: {DOMAINNAME}\{Username}
This should be configured as the password associated with your user account on the MCS.
Phone Manager Mobile connects to the MCS on a secure connection and requires a certificate in order to communicate. If the MCS server has not been configured with CA based certificate then a self-signed certificate must be downloaded from the MCS while on the corporate network.
To install the certificate click on the orange link and then follow the instructions for you particular mobile phone’s operating system:
When clicking on the link the following screen will appear:
Select the ‘Install’ option in the top right-hand corner.
From iOS 10.3, Apple have increased the security on self-signed certificates. If you are having problems on iOS 10.3, please follow these steps:
On the iPhone, Navigate to 'Settings -> General -> about'. At the bottom of this list is an entry labeled 'Certificate Trust Settings'. In this section there are toggle controls for the installed certificates. Locate the certificate for the MCS server and enable it.
